Update Opposition And Portal Online Media Once Again Provoke And Reported DS @NajibRazak Speech Out Of Context >> Berita Malay 18

The Hari Malaysia 2017 celebration was marred by Prime Minister, DS Najib Tun Razak’s speech which so-called contained elements of threatening Chinese Malaysian voters in the lead up to the coming general election. DS Najib Tun Razak was reported by the media as saying that,
The Chinese community would be targeted should Malaysia ever descend into chaos. If there is no peace in our country, what will happen? The Chinese will be the first to be targeted if there is no peace in this country.
He was said to have made those remarks at the MCA-organised "Malaysian Chinese Patriotic Rally" held at the Putra World Trade Centre two day ago. MCA Secretary General, DS Ong Ka Chuan, in his press statement said that the Prime Minister's speech should be read in entirety, in the full context and not just selected words.

DS Ong said that the Prime Minister had stressed on the nation's fight against terrorists such as the Islamic State (IS). Once the nation's peace and stability are destroyed by these undesirable elements, all ethnicities in the country will suffer. Unfortunately, the online  media had reported the Prime Minister's out of context, deliberately pinpointing certain words, in its mischievous title.

It is common for opposition leaders such as Kluang MP and DAP Central Executive Council (CEC) member, Liew Chin Tong, to twist and take Prime Minister's words out of context as they fear MCA manage to exploit some problems within Pakatan and the fear among some Chinese voters, which could double the seats it won by winning 30% Chinese support.

Bear in mind, MCA as a Barisan Nasional' component party did not need to win 30% of ethnic Chinese votes by threatening violence and advocating spoiled votes. As a political party representing the Chinese community, MCA is known as party that assist the Chinese people in resolving challenges they faced in the economic, education and social life.

Online news reported Prime Minister's speech out of context: Misleading title aimed to provoke readers' discontent against Prime Minister

It is unfortunate that once again, an online news agency deems it fit to discredit the Prime Minister's speech delivered during the "Malaysian Chinese Patriotic Rally" at PWTC during the momentous occasion on Malaysia Day. Clearly, the title of the news report is intended to be sensationalism designed to provoke readers' discontent and resentment against the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister's speech should be read in entirety, in the full context and not just selected words.
Our premier had stressed on the nation's fight against terrorists such as the Islamic State (IS). Once the nation's peace and stability are destroyed by these undesirable elements, all ethnicities in the country will suffer. Unfortunately, the online  media had reported the Prime Minister's out of context, deliberately pinpointing certain words, in its mischievous title.

As many Malaysian Chinese are engaged in commercial activities, whether large enterprises or small and medium enterprises, coupled with the fact that a vast majority of Chinese are non-Muslims, the Chinese face a relatively larger risk, because IS and other terrorists have openly targeted non-Muslims. It is not only in Malaysia but also in the Middle East, Europe and Marawi in the Philippines, IS and their supporters have openly declared and launched terrorist and slaughter rampages mostly targeting non-Muslims.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of stability, peace and the key role the federal government undertakes in safeguarding national security and stability. Regrettably, certain online media distorted, made selective references  and reported the Prime Minister out of context. This appears to be an attempt to fabricate a wrong impression of the Prime Minister as if he is threatening the Chinese community.

The presence of Prime Minister Najib together with the Chinese businessmen, Chinese guilds and associations and other NGOs is a positive affirmation, and recognition of the success of the Chinese community, but also more importantly, acknowledgment of the contributions by the Malaysian Chinese towards nation building, ensurint continuous growth and prosperity.
However, the online media appears to opt to omit mentioning this fact amd instead, tries to distort facts, plays with words to mislead readers and the Chinese community, so that readers mistakenly believe that the Prime Minister's speech is deemed as a threat against the Chinese community. This is not the first time for online news portals to sensationalise and  report misleading news. Any news should uphold integrity and  professionalism rather than deviating from the facts to mislead readers. Such actions are extremely irresponsible reports.

But this is the consistent style of the media, so we are not surprised. We cannot stop this unprofessional behavior, but we urge readers to understand the truth, and to not be misled by the erroneous reporting by certain online media.
